Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

What is sports rehabilitation?
Sports rehabilitation is a structured process designed to help you recover from injury, restore movement and strength, and return safely to training or sport. At Apex Fitness and Sports Rehabilitation, we combine assessment, hands-on treatment, corrective exercise, and strength-based progressions to rebuild performance.
Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
No referral is needed. You can book directly for sports rehabilitation, sports massage, or personal training without seeing a GP or consultant first.
Do you treat non-athletes?
Yes. While we specialise in athletes and active individuals, we regularly work with gym-goers, runners, and people who simply want to train safely without pain.
What injuries do you treat?
We commonly treat:
-
Knee pain and ligament injuries
-
Shoulder injuries
-
Back pain
-
Muscle strains
-
Tendon issues (Achilles, patellar, hamstring tendinopathy)
-
Overuse injuries
-
Post-surgical rehabilitation
If you’re unsure whether we can help, get in touch and we’ll advise.
Is sports massage good for injury recovery?
Sports massage can support recovery by reducing muscle tension, improving mobility, and improving movement quality. It can be used as a standalone treatment or alongside rehabilitation depending on the issue.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on your injury, training demands, and goals. Some clients need a short block of treatment, while others benefit from longer-term rehab and performance support. After your assessment, we’ll recommend a clear plan.
Can you help me return to sport after injury?
Yes. Return-to-play is a key part of what we do. We build your strength and capacity back up gradually so you can return to sport with confidence, not uncertainty.
Where are you based?
We are based at The Yard Gym in Leigh, with access to a fully equipped treatment room, gym, and fitness studio.
Do you cover Leigh and surrounding areas?
Yes. We work with clients from Leigh and nearby areas including Worsley, Salford, Atherton, Tyldesley, Golborne, Walkden, Swinton, Eccles, and Greater Manchester.
