Alfie Mather
Sports Rehabilitation Therapist
BASRaT-Accredited
A graduate of Salford University with a BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation, Alfie specialises in elite and high-performance sport, with extensive experience across football, rugby, triathlon, and athletics. He has worked with professional footballers during his time at Salford FC, high international–level triathletes, and marathon runners, supporting athletes through complex rehabilitation and return-to-performance pathways.

With a strong understanding of the physical demands of elite competition, Alfie delivers evidence-based rehabilitation programs that bridge the gap between injury recovery and performance readiness. His approach integrates detailed biomechanical assessment, load management, progressive strength and conditioning, and sport-specific return-to-play planning.
Alfie has experience managing acute and overuse injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, and long-term performance development. Each programme is tailored to the athlete’s sport, position, and competitive demands—ensuring readiness to perform, not just return.
Current roles include providing sports rehabilitation support for Tyldesley RUFC and Altrincham FC academy footballers, working collaboratively with coaches and medical teams to deliver structured, measurable return-to-play outcomes.
Whether working with contact sport athletes or endurance performers, Alfie focuses on building resilient, robust athletes capable of sustaining long-term performance. He is a strong advocate for athlete education, empowering individuals to understand their bodies, move efficiently, and build resilience under competitive pressure.
